It was supposed to be just another Saturday gimmick for me. Karla and I decided to watch Makoy’s Violator Copy on a Saturday because I have work during weekdays. On the web, it was supposedly scheduled at 6:00 pm but when we got there (Robinson’s Galleria) it was scheduled for 7:30 pm. I got to see the Circus Listers at the theater entrance, they were going to see the film as well.
Violator Copy is a compilation of Marcus Adoro’s video works. The latest short film that he did was “The Artist Is In” which was last year and at last I was able to see it. This isn’t your typical film with dialogues in it; I would probably say that the film talked to its audience through the sound of the surroundings and the non-existence of sound. The lead character, the artist, quietly thinks of song writing ideas inside his room while on the other hand the outside world is full of noise. This shows the difficulty of some artists in the urban setting. I also thought of the struggle of an artist to squeeze their creativity juices given a little amount of time. There are deadlines to make but sometimes creativity lags behind and couldn’t cope under time pressure. It could be hypothesized that a typical day for an everyday worker, perhaps with expected tasks, is almost the same as an artist in under time pressure. Making art would become just like a normal activity and feeling of pleasure is gone. Read the rest of this entry »
This photo was taken seconds after Karla and I bought the copies of the Eraserheads Reunion Concert 083008. We bought ours in Astroplus SM Makati and we were lucky enough to get the last 2 DVDS on stock. This was just actually released today in all Astrovision and Astroplus stores only then starting January 31, you can already avail it through Odyssey outlets.
We started watching the DVD (it’s not yet done as of this moment) and captured nice photo moments. I envy Karla so much because she appeared twice. Huhu. (And I AM THE FAN GIRL MORE THAN HER!!!). Also the people I was with were at least seen like Tonton and King’s arm. Wahh!!! And where am I? BESIDE KING! Pathetic! Lol
Anyway, I was also saw the girl from NIke (I believe she is) whom I always see in our building (especially in the elevator). Nike’s office is in Rufino Tower and Raymund is one of the endorsers of Nike so most likely she got in there through the SVIP section Raymund. Read the rest of this entry »

On Sunday, January 10th, Anabel has chosen to rest in peace. She spent 10 days in the hospital. Even though Anabel had already passed away, your donations are still needed. Her brain surgery alone already costed Php 500,000 and that’s not including her laboratories and doctor’s fees. The Rock Bosch gigs will still continue to help cover the expenses and also to help Mishka, her survived daughter, for her future as well.
This is a post-Christmas celebration for the bloggers who are also plurkers. Last December 26, we went to Tagaytay and all we did there was to pig out, LITERALLY. We left Manila at around 9 am and arrived at Tagaytay City at around 10:30 am. It wasn’t that cold yet, it’s just the normal morning breeze. Our first stop was a Greek restaurant called Manos Greek Taverna. Since our group was really big ( imagine 25 food trippers), we have to divide ourselves into smaller groups so that billing and ordering would be much easier. I was of course part of the food bloggers group wherein each dish that comes to our table have to be photographed ( of course for our food blogs ). The food that we ordered in Manos were Moussaka, Tsatziki with pita bread and Grilled Lamb Chops. We also had yogurt shake as our beverage. Read the rest of this entry »
My first post for 2009: a reflection of my life in 2008. Well, I’m not really going to be so emo about it but I just want to see where I am now being a 25 year old adult in this world .
CAREER. I resigned from the Call Center Industry after more than 2 years of being there. I don’t have anything against people working in Call Centers but for me, it just became a stepping stone for me. Yes, the money is big but it’s not I really wanted. I just got tired of the irregular work hours. When I was offered to be a headhunter (executive search), I immediately grabbed it. Though the compensation is just a few hundreds lower from what I am getting from my previous job, it is fulfilling in a sense that I am working during regular hours and I am pretty much enjoying what I am doing. I’m already working there for 4 months now.
<<UPDATED>> AFTER THE GIG, THERE WAS AN INFORMAL PARTY IN SAGUIJO CAFE ( IN GUIJO ST, MAKATI). FIRST WHO ARRIVED WAS RAYMUND THEN BUDDY AND MARCUS CAME IN LAST. SOME OF THEIR BAND FRIENDS WERE WITH THEM. THEY PERFORMED MINSAN, MAGASIN, SPOLIARIUM, PARE KO AND ANG HULING EL BIMBO ( SONGS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE 2ND SET)
For the people who know me, you all know that the Eraserheads has been an important part of my life and I will never ever let this pass. You all know how I profess my love for this band. And now here is a blow by blow account of my experience there and also some juicy news
I prepared all the gig paraphernalia I need for an open air concert: a malong ( to serve as our mat while waiting for the show to start), alcohol ( you know, for hygenic purposes), tissue, towel and caps. About 3:00 pm we’re already at the MRT Ayala station going to the Fort bus, fans were already lining up to take the bus. Karla and I arrived the Fort area at 3:30 pm. There are already signs around the area giving directions to where the show will be held.
( Eraserhead? typo error that was not even corrected grr! Eraserhead was David Lynch’s movie) Read the rest of this entry »
Last August 27, we were invited to the official launch for the new Jolly Hotdogs by Jollibee at the City Kart Racing in Parañaque. And the best part of it all ( above the bottomless hotdogs we can have) is that I was able to experience Kart Racing! WEEEE! I don’t know how to drive but this one is easy, it’s like driving a bump car ( except that bumping other cars are not allowed hehe).

A sad event happened to the Buendia Family this morning. Lisette Buendia, Ely Buendia’s mom, passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest after surgery. News broke out as Jim Ayson received a message from Sancho ( one of the Eheads’ closest friends) and was disseminated through the Eheads ML.
Amidst the hype about the Eheads reunion gig, let’s try to be mindful of what we say because Ely Buendia is also undergoing some personal battles that we are not aware of. But even though this happened, the show will still push through as scheduled.
My condolences to Ely, Elyra ( who was my classmate when I was in freshman year in UPD) and the rest of the Buendia Family. Our prayers are with you.
Karla and I watched this film a few days ago at the Gateway Mall and I could say that it was ok. I really couldn’t say that it’s really good and cannot even compare it to the other “The Mummy” flicks since I haven’t seen the last 2. It was average so to say.
We have already watched 2 Brendan Frasier flicks this past month the other was “The Journey to the Center of the Earth” and comparing the 2 Frasier flicks, I could judge that I like the “Journey” better than the “Mummy 3″. It was much funnier. The only scene that I actually laughed in “The Mummy 3″ was when the dead skeletons were attaching each other’s body parts that fell while battling the terracotta warriors. I also enjoyed the fact that I am seeing Beijing, China one more time. It made me reminisce the time when I was at the Great Wall and seeing the actual terracotta warriors in Xian, China.
I used the gift certificates that was given last Shabu-Shabu 101 bloggers event held at Healthy Shabu-Shabu in Shangri la Mall. I treated my mom and my ninang ( whose birthday was just recently). We were so full. I still ordered the US Angus Beef Set since I enjoyed their Angus Beef during the event then. My mom ordered the Fat Beef and Seafood Set and as for my Ninang, she ordered Beef Tenderloin Set.
By the way, I took a picture of these lobsters. Just got interested, they’re actually upside down seem like sleeping. They need siesta too, this was taken about 3:30 pm
