We know that advertising is a powerful force that molds people’s minds whether it is a product advertisement or an advocacy. This is the reason 2nd Media, the Public Affairs arm of the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines, launched the Biggest Outdoor Gallery in Asia which aims to change how billhoards should be. This is a good way to let the people who will be passing by these billboards in EDSA about nature conservation. For me, it is something to look forward to because billboards today mostly show bare naked bodies and just advertise clothes or beauty products etc. Also one interesting thing about this one is that these are real artworks that were done by 10 most promising Filipino artists such as Popo San Pascual, Riel Hilario, Eddie Boy Escudero, Jose Terence Ruiz, Mario V. Fernandez, Gari Buenavista, MM Yu, Christina Quisumbing Ramilo, Lotsu Manes and Tina Fernandez. This also will help people appreciate art by bringing it much closer to the people, breaking the common notion that art can only be contained inside a museum when in fact it can be seen anywhere.
