I went to Laiya in San Juan, Batangas again ( last May 31) but this time I was with Baby, Kel, John, Rona and Karla. It was my first time to go out of town with them so the experience is different compared with my officemates. We stayed in White Cove Beach Resort ( same as where my officemates and I stayed last Holy Week) but this time we stayed overnight there. It was one hell of an adventure for us because we were supposed to leave early. How unfortunate Kel was when his driver’s license was given by the guard on duty ( in Baby’s village) to another person. It was his car that will be be used to go to Batangas and he didn’t have his license. We tried to locate the other person who might have his license but really couldn’t find him. Well anyway, we proceeded to a notary public to process an affidavit of loss then headed to Batangas after lunch. We arrived in San Juan about 5:00 pm. It was their fiesta celebration, got caught up in the traffic because some barangays have their own santacruzan. Even though it was a slow traffic, we enjoyed watching the santacruzan.
Once we arrived we prepared dinner, Rona cooked adobo the night before so that’s what we ate. We also grilled some hotdogs and cooked rice as well. After dinner we had some few drinks like vodka, beer and wine, played card games to pass the time. It’s really quiet there according to them who have been to Boracay and Galera. This is the place to relax and unwind. There were some power failures as well but it was just for a few seconds maybe. While the lights were off, I saw the night sky with the stars really visible. It’s very beautiful. We got tired of playing cards, so we decided to star gaze at the beach until we retire for the night.
The next day, Karla and I were the first ones to wake up. It was 9:00 am, looked for something to eat from the groceries Baby brought from Manila. It was a bright Sunday morning, perfect for swimming. After breakfast, we had a swim and got ourselves tanned again. Actually we are still tanned due to our trip from Romblon about a month ago.
Karla and I only stayed for a night because she has to go to work on Monday, as for Kel, Baby and John they stayed until Monday. Baby and Kel drove us to the nearest shuttle to Lipa. Before riding the shuttle, we had some Lomi at this local carinderia. This is foodtrippings Batangas edition! 😉 It’s fine that we left a day early, we’ve been to that place before 🙂 It was a fast travel back to Manila, we arrived Karla’s house about 10:00 pm.
